Top 4 Beauty Favorites

So i have been investing in my beauty routine a little bit more recently and i am finally lifting myself out of that post-baby pajama day e’ryday funk. I’ve been using some new products for a couple of months now and i love them and just had to share! I purchased from Sephora NZ using the new Afterpay option so i have listed prices in accordance to that. PS if you haven’t heard of AFTERPAY it is amazing, it’s a modern take on layby where you get your items straight away and its interest free and four easy fortnightly repayment (so i can afford to live a little more fancily hehehe). Without further ado, here are my top 4 in no particular order because they are all great:

  1. Herbivore Botanicals: Coco Rose Coconut Oil Lip Conditioner – $3
This has been a godsend to my post-pregnancy dry and flakey lips! It also really enhances the natural colour of my lips which is great for days when i don’t feel like wearing any lip colour. Also it is vegan and animal friendly and free of all those nasty parabens and sulphates. Plus it’s gluten free. And it looks hella classy. WINNING.023A3265.jpg
  2. Marc Jacobs Beauty: Velvet Noir Major Volume Mascara – $39
I have searched high and low for a mascara that will make my pathetic invisible eyelashes look long and full without the need for extensions or falsies and without making poor fragile eyes weep when i inevitably forget i am wearing mascara and rub my eyes to oblivion… and great scott i found it, finally. This mascara is by far the best i have ever used. I can add one layer for a bit of definition and a simple natural look or i can layer it up and build for a more dramatic longer effect. It’s buildable WITHOUT CLUMPING! Many many many plus points for this mascara. Thank you Marc Jacobs! And for a designer brand the price tag is pretty sweet, especially when you compare it with some highstreet beauty brand prices…its not that much more expensive.

  3. IT Cosmetics: No. 50 Anti-aging Collagen Veil Primer – $68
Yes i am only 23 and yes i purchased an anti-aging products because MOM LIFE got me like woah where’d those wrinkles come from? I use this over my moisturizer every night before bed to make the most of that collagen when i sleep, and in the day i wear it over my moisturizer and under my makeup. I can already see a difference in my skin, it’s much more plump and a lot less tired looking and my eye area is looking less sunken too. It also makes for a great makeup base, and my foundation goes on effortlessly over the top.
  4. Last but by no means least, miracle water for your face! Caudalie: Beauty Elixir – $27
A toning mist that sets makeup and can also be used as a priming base. It’s very refreshing and smells like peppermint, need i say more? No, but i will. I use this to set my makeup, it brightens up my complexion and makes my face look all fresh and glowy. I love this, i carry it with me in my handbag whenever i feel the need for some hydrating and a freshen up, or just to smell the peppermint!

Here are the links to the items listed at Sephora NZ, in case you want to check it out for yourself, which you should. And don’t forget that afterpay!

Alternative names for your ‘glasses’

Seen as my alternative ways to refer to your friends post went down so well, i have decided to offer you some more unique ways to refer to your glasses, because lets face it wearing glasses is far from a unique thing, what’s more unique is having 20/20 vision (those bastards! – shakes fist). So, here are some ways to colorize your boring blurry life, and also make life less confusing when you lose your glasses in a bar (“where’s my glasses” “go home Larry you’re drunk, your glass is right in front of you”):

Print Enlargers

Thick Boys (for those of you who require a thicker lens)

Big Viewers

Window Boxes

View Enhancers

Whiteboard Wonders (cos ya know, trying to read the whiteboard in school without them was a bitch)

Magic Eyes

Microscopes of the World

If you have anymore, please drop them in the comments. My vision-impaired compatriots, lets help one another widen our spectacular (see what i did there?) glasses vocabulary.

What have i been up to lately?

It’s so annoying when people are forever asking “what have you been up to?”, even when you haven’t seen people for years and they ask you, you literally cannot think what you have spent your past 5 years doing. And the line that usually follows “not a lot”. So i’m going to try and make some effort to post every month with a summary of what i have done, no matter how small, because it’s pretty discouraging to feel like you have been doing nothing and wasting your time.

What did i do in February?

  • Really honed my skills in photography, put myself out there more and started to make more progress in my business.
  • Mom’ed like a boss.
  • Clipped the rabbits’ nails, both of em.
  • Made a conscious effort to keep up with my correspondence. Instead of complaining about how friends never get in touch, i made the effort to get in touch and feel all the more happy and less isolated in doing so.
  • Made MAMMOTH deposits into our savings for our xmas 2018 England trip.
  • Finished watching Gossip Girl on Netflix.
  • Got invited to some weddings (the next few months are going to be so much fun and fanciness!)
  • Came off the pill (because hello it messes with your hormones on a level that so is not worth it – i’ll write a post about this when i start to see everything get back to how it should be!)
  • Made a huge wishlist on Asos, hehe.

A lot of these things are just small, but they are standing out to me right now as things i have achieved last month and so i have included them, they are all important on some level.

This month, i hope this list will have increased way more.
